Following the success of the previous competitions AHOEC and NAHT have once again joined forces to promote learning outside of the classroom by running the Outdoor Adventure Photographic Competition 2012. We all know that children and young people benefit from ‘hands on’ experiences. By seeing, hearing, touching and exploring the world around them and experiencing challenge and adventure, they find out how what they learn at school relates to their life outside it. The classroom environment doesn’t always provide young people with enough of these opportunities and whilst great learning already happens outside the classroom, many pupils still don’t get out and about enough.
